HomeThe Priority Scheme

The Priority Scheme

Homechoice uses a priority banding scheme to put applicants into order on the short-list.
If you are applying for council and housing association rented accommodation your application will be placed in one of 5 bands, according to your housing circumstances. For a detailed explanation click  Banding Scheme - homes for rent .  If you are applying for HomeBuy or shared ownership properties the same bands will be used but the property seller will only proceed with those who are assessed as being able to afford this type of housing. For more information click www.catalysthomebuy.co.uk
The Priority Bands are part of the Homechoice South Oxfordshire Housing Allocations Policy. By law all councils must allow housing applicants to see the policy they are using to make letting decisions. The policy was updated in July 2009. To download a copy of the full policy click here.
