Step 1 - How to register

homechoice header

You will be able to apply for properties through Homechoice if you have registered with South Oxfordshire District Council’s Housing Services.  For details on how to apply to join the housing register click Who Can Use the Service.
Download an application form here
If you are interested in home ownership opportunities, you can also apply to the Catalyst HomeBuy scheme. Application for HomeBuy
When you are accepted on to the housing register we will write to tell you:
  • Your application reference number
  • The Priority Band your application has been placed in
  • Your application date and
  • Your Mobility level (if this applies)
  • The size and type of properties that you can bid for.
  • Whether you have a qualifying local connection to the district.
Click The Priority Scheme for more information.
You must tell us if there are any changes in your circumstances so that we can reassess your application and if necessary make changes to your band and priority date. Your circumstances will be checked at the time of receiving an offer. If you have not told us about changes in your circumstances your application may be suspended or your rehousing may be delayed.

Property Size

You will only be able to bid for properties that are suitable for the size of your family. The rules are different for rented and shared ownership properties.
