Council and Housing Association rented properties

All bids received will be put in priority order to produce a list of qualifying applicants for each property advertised. The landlord of the property will carry out any outstanding checks, (e.g. rent payment, family size). You may be visited as part of this process. If your circumstances are not as you described them then you may be overlooked for that property. In some circumstances you registration may be suspended.
If your name is at the top of the priority list you will normally be invited to view the property unless there is a reasons why we are unable to do this. For example, if you have undisclosed rent arrears or you are in breach of a tenancy agreement. If we are unable to offer the property to the applicant at the top of the list we will normally move to the next applicant and so on.
However, we reserve the right to offer the property to someone further down the list, if the property has features which meet their particular needs.
If you refuse the property, it will be offered to the next person on the priority list. You will not normally be penalised for refusing a property and will continue to be able to bid for properties advertised.
If you are offered a property you will not be short-listed for other properties until you have decided to either accept or refuse the offer. If you are lucky enough to be at the top of two lists, we will discuss with you which one you prefer.
If you accept the property you will be advised when you will be able to move in. The housing association will give you a date for signing the tenancy agreement and collecting the keys.

Shared Ownership

As soon as the bidding closes we will check applications to confirm your eligibility . We will pass all the names of all those eligible to the property developer, who will then contact the prospective purchasers in order of priority.
The sales process normally takes at least 6 to 8 weeks but can vary. It is your responsibility to keep in contact with your solicitor to ensure that there are no unnecessary delays.
